SDT-58 Vlkodav historical reference
In the late 1950s, the Czechoslovak military prepared the requirements for a new heavy tank that would be qualitatively different from all vehicles developed previously. The designers planned to equip the vehicle with powerful armament consisting of two guns, which was meant to significantly increase the fire rate. An optical rangefinder was intended to improve aiming. Preliminary calculations showed that mounting two guns and fitting their ammunition would overload the chassis. In addition, the tank turned out to be quite difficult to service and expensive to produce. The project was closed before a prototype was built. To fit in with game conventions, the vehicle is presented as a medium tank.
