FV227 Conceiver historical reference
A project for the FV227 Conceiver tank, which developed a concept for assault tanks that emphasized counteracting enemy vehicles rather than fortifications. The vehicle's primary purpose was reinforcement of the versatile Centurion tanks in battle. It was planned to equip the FV227 Conceiver with two identical high-caliber guns. The guns could be fired alternately or in salvo. Virtually all developed countries in the world were attempting to develop a tank with a double-barreled gun system, but not one of these projects entered production.
