Crew role
The job a crew member holds, each one governing a different set of the vehicle's numbers.
Also known as crew member, commander, gunner, loader, driver.
A vehicle carries between two and six crew members, in five roles:
- Commander: view range, and a bonus to every other crew member's effectiveness
- Gunner: accuracy and how fast the gun settles
- Driver: mobility and terrain handling
- Loader: reload time
- Radio operator: signal range
Wounding one degrades exactly its area: a hit gunner widens dispersion, a hit loader stretches the reload, a hit driver makes the vehicle sluggish. Some crew members hold two roles at once on smaller vehicles, which means one injury costs twice as much.
The commander's bonus is the reason a wounded commander is felt everywhere: it lifts the effective training level of everyone else, so losing it degrades the whole vehicle at once.
