Accuracy

A gun's dispersion at 100 metres, in metres: the radius of the circle a fully aimed shot can land in, where lower is better.

Also known as dispersion at 100m, gun accuracy.

An accuracy of 0.32 means that at 100 metres, a fully aimed shell lands somewhere inside a circle of 0.32 metres radius. The circle grows linearly with distance, so the same gun spreads across 1.28 metres at 400 metres.

Shots are not spread evenly inside it. The distribution is heavily weighted toward the centre, so most shells land near the aim point and only a small share reach the edge, which is what makes a slightly worse gun still usable and a fully aimed shot still occasionally miss.

Accuracy is only the floor. What a gun does in practice depends on how quickly it reaches that circle and how much moving and turning widen it, which are separate numbers.
