Gold is bought with money and, for clans, earned from Clan Wars territory income. It buys premium time and premium vehicles, converts vehicle experience into free experience, retrains a crew without loss and expands the garage.
It no longer buys ammunition. Premium shells were moved to credits years ago, though the community still calls them gold rounds.
