Damage blocked
Potential damage that hit the player's armor and failed to penetrate, the ledger entry for playing a heavily armored vehicle well.
Also known as blocked damage, bounced damage, damage bounced.
Every shell that bounces or is absorbed by spaced armor carries the damage it would have dealt. That figure is recorded as blocked damage, so a heavy tank that holds a corner and eats twelve shots has something to show for it even if its own damage is modest.
It is the statistic behind angling, hull down positions and sidescraping, and it is why armored vehicles are judged on damage plus blocking rather than on damage alone.
