Improved Rotation MechanismIRM

The equipment that speeds up hull and turret traverse and softens the dispersion penalty for turning.

Also known as IRM, rotation mechanism.

It does two things at once: the vehicle turns faster, and turning costs less accuracy. On a heavy tank being circled, that combination is survival rather than convenience.

It is the usual alternative to a stabiliser on vehicles whose problem is not moving but turning.
