Octo Gaming was formerly known as Independent Company Players Association. ICPA was the top training clan and the #1 Tank Company for 2 years. As a training clan, our members were constantly poached and always rotating through, which made it impossible to compete in anything other than Tank Company.
Our record was further entrenched when gold ammo was made available for silver. The OG TC had 50 or more people waiting in queue every night. With premium ammo, we were unstopable so an alternative to Tank Company was required.
When Stronghold, was devised by octothorpe and implemented by Wargaming.Net to replace Tank Company, a more general name was chosen for our clan.
Wargamng.Net has adopted all but one of our recommendations, the removal of premium ammo from all modes except Clan Wars and this still needs to be done to balance the game so that everyone has a fair and equal chance to win based on skill.
