Farming
Accumulating damage from a safe position, which raises personal statistics without necessarily helping the team win.
Also known as farm, damage farming.
Farming is the gap between damage and usefulness. Shooting into a stalemate from the back produces a good scoreboard and changes nothing about the flank that is collapsing, and damage-heavy ratings reward it more than they should.
The word is not always pejorative: farming a fight the team is winning is simply playing well. It becomes a criticism when the damage is being taken instead of the position that would have won the battle.
