In the early 1950s, the four-track design became a popular idea in NATO countries, and it was this design that was attempted on the new TF-4 flamethrower tank. The tank was to feature very strong armor protection to effectively operate as a flamethrower vehicle, and a hydrostatic transmission to ensure high mobility. A poorly developed design concept meant that the TF-4 was not even included in the general list of Question Mark conference questions. As a result, the project was lost among others and never developed further.
