Our clan name "Osiyo" honors the Cherokee people. Our combat officer , Neechi is Cherokee. The wolf head symbol honors our founder - Crane King and IronUte's Norwegian lineage.
We honor the Cherokee people and all Native American warriors in this clan. For a direct tie in, check out the book Spearhead by Adam Makos. Chapter 1. Also, another notable Cherokee tank commander from World War II was Staff Sergeant Ruben Rivers, who served in the 761st Tank Battalion, also known as the "Black Panthers," and was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for his bravery in combat; he is considered a significant figure for his actions while being part-Cherokee heritage.
