Rating colors
The nine-step colour scale the community reads ratings through, running from black at the bottom to dark purple at the top.
Also known as colour scale, color scale, wn8 colors, wn8 colours, green player.
Nobody remembers what 1,845 means, so ratings are shown as colours. The scale is the same one XVM popularised and every stats site follows, with the bands set so that the middle of the population lands on yellow.
- Black and red: well below average
- Orange: below average
- Yellow: average, where most of the server sits
- Light and dark green: above average
- Blue: good
- Purple and dark purple: the top few percent, the unicum range
The thresholds differ per rating. A 2,000 WN8 and a 2,000 WNX are not the same colour, because each scale is calibrated against its own distribution, which is why a rating is quoted with its name attached.
