Die 519. war eine der Kompanien, die sich stets an vorderster Front wiederfand. Doch kämpfte sie dort nicht um der Feinde Tod, sondern um den Schutze der deutschen Infanterie vor feindlichen Panzerverbänden. Im Anerkennen dieses edlen Strebens wurde diese Abteilung stets mit den Neusten und für diese Aufgabe am besten gerüsteten Panzern verstärkt. Daraus zur Folge bestand diese Abteilung fast ausschließlich aus Sturmgeschützen, Panzerjäger IV, Jagdpanthern und dem Nashorn-Panzer.
