Танк «Объект 244» отличался установкой более мощного основного орудия. Боевое отделение подверглось незначительным изменениям: радиостанция была расположена в нише башни, был установлен новый вентилятор повышенной производительности, были изменены боеукладка и перископический прицел. Устройство отделения управления, моторного и трансмиссионного отделений осталось без изменений.
