# Retraining

Moving a crew to a different vehicle, at a cost in training percentage unless gold is paid.

Also known as retrain, crew retraining.

A crew trained on one vehicle loses proficiency when moved to another. Retraining with [credits](/glossary/credits.md) recovers part of it, [gold](/glossary/gold.md) recovers all of it, and doing nothing leaves the crew at a penalty that shows in every stat it governs.

[Premium vehicles](/glossary/premium-tank.md) of the same nation are the exception: a crew moved onto one keeps its training, which is what makes them crew trainers.
