# Module

One of a vehicle's five researchable components: suspension, engine, turret, gun and radio.

Also known as modules, components, upgrades.

Modules are both an upgrade path and a damage model. Researched in order, they turn a [stock](/glossary/stock.md) vehicle into its final configuration, and each one has [hit points](/glossary/hit-points.md) that can be damaged in battle.

The suspension usually comes first because it raises the weight the vehicle may carry, which is what makes the heavier [turret](/glossary/turret.md) and gun mountable at all.
