# Minimap

The overhead map in the corner of the screen, which shows spotted enemies, last known positions and where the team actually is.

Also known as mini map, map awareness.

Everything the team [spots](/glossary/spotting.md) appears on the minimap, including vehicles too far away to be drawn on screen. It also keeps the last known position of a target that has just gone dark, which is what makes a [blind shot](/glossary/blind-shot.md) possible.

Reading it is the cheapest skill in the game and the one that most separates players: it says where a [flank](/glossary/flanking.md) is collapsing, which enemies are unaccounted for, and whether the position you are driving to still exists.
