# Heavy tankHT

The armored class: slow, tough and built to hold ground by absorbing shells other vehicles could not survive.

Also known as heavies, HT.

A heavy tank's job is the corner nobody else can hold. Its [hit points](/glossary/hit-points.md) and [armor](/glossary/armor-thickness.md) let it contest a chokepoint directly, and [blocked damage](/glossary/damage-blocked.md) is as much a measure of it doing its job as damage dealt.

Its weakness is committing to the wrong side of the map: a heavy that starts in the wrong place cannot get back, and by the time it arrives the [flank](/glossary/flanking.md) it left has already lost.
