# Gold

The purchased currency, spent on premium time, premium vehicles, converting experience and retraining crews.

Also known as premium currency.

Gold is bought with money and, for [clans](/glossary/clan.md), earned from [Clan Wars](/glossary/clan-wars.md) territory income. It buys [premium time](/glossary/premium-account.md) and [premium vehicles](/glossary/premium-tank.md), converts [vehicle experience](/glossary/experience.md) into [free experience](/glossary/free-experience.md), [retrains](/glossary/retraining.md) a crew without loss and expands the [garage](/glossary/garage.md).

It no longer buys [ammunition](/glossary/shell.md). Premium shells were moved to [credits](/glossary/credits.md) years ago, though the community still calls them [gold rounds](/glossary/premium-ammo.md).
