# Focus fire

Several players shooting the same target at once, which removes it from the battle before it can trade back.

Also known as focusing, focused.

Damage only matters when it finishes something. Three vehicles spreading their shots across three targets leave three opponents shooting back; the same three shots into one target leave two.

Being focused is the other side of it: a vehicle that shows itself to four guns at once is gone whatever its [armor](/glossary/armor-thickness.md), which is what a [crossfire](/glossary/crossfire.md) is designed to produce.
