# Blind shot

Firing at a position where an enemy is believed to be, without it being spotted.

Also known as blind fire, shooting blind.

A vehicle that has just gone dark is still somewhere, and its last known position sits on the [minimap](/glossary/minimap.md). A [shell](/glossary/shell.md) sent into a known [bush](/glossary/bush.md) or behind a known rock costs one [reload](/glossary/reload.md) and occasionally lands.

It is also how a [passive scout](/glossary/passive-scouting.md) is dislodged: a few blind shells into the usual bush line are cheaper than driving in to check.
