Rond 1998 was de Nederlandse top van Elite Force spelers verdeelt over de toenmalige top tien van internationale clans. Onder leiding van Deviant en Willebil kwamen deze medio 2000 bijeen in het Nationale team tijdens de EF-Eurocompetition. Het team werd kortweg met NED aangeduid. Na eenmaal met een grote ladder meegedaan te hebben kreeg het team de smaak te pakken en organiseerde zich binnen NED-Clan. De onderlinge contacten verstevigden zich en wat volgde was een hechte club van Nederlandstalige online gamers die elkaar op internet, real life en tijdens zelf georganiseerde LAN-party's opzochten.
Deze groep groeide en verkende gezamenlijk ook andere First Person Shooters. Medio 2003 werd tijdens de Herfst LAN besloten om over te stappen op de game van dat moment: RtcW: Enemy Territory hetgeen hoogtijdagen voor NED inluidde. Heden zijn we een vriendelijke community met verschillende games waaronder World of Tanks.
