Chieftain Mk. 6 Práce na projektu tanku, který měl nahradit tank Centurion, začaly na počátku 50. let, ale první prototypy se objevily až v roce 1959. Tank FV4201 Chieftain vstoupil do služby v květnu 1963 a vyráběl se až do roku 1985. Chieftain Mk. 6 je Chieftain Mk. 2 s novou pohonnou jednotkou a upraveným kulometem.
